What's next for Indiana's public schools?

With changes in superintendent, governor, come questions

Just where does Indiana public schools reform stand in light of the state GOP’s only upset of the Nov. 8 election?
Tony Bennett, who attracted national attention for taking a public schools’ voucher and charter system arguably faster and farther than any Hoosier predecessor or national colleague, saw his single term in office halted in favor of Glenda Ritz.
The relatively unknown Indianapolis teacher’s victory underscored her and the teachers’ union’s organizational strengths and the decisive role social media can play in an outcome.
But it also underscored Bennett’s unwillingness to listen to those otherwise supportive voices, this newspaper among them, that felt the state superintendent’s pace of education changes was moving along much faster than the proven results.
