I've heard a lot of stupid ideas floated through the schools during my time at Tweed. And some of them are really, really stupid. But many of them are stupid but harmless. For example most professional development workshops are boring, pointless, but in the end, who really cares? Yawn. Blah. In one ear, out the other.

Some ideas are stupid but can actually harm teachers. And one of the stupidest ideas that is commonly believed by many teachers, administrators, students, and parents alike is one of the most harmful. It goes like this: you cannot teach classroom management to teachers. Teachers either have the authority to control a class or they don't. If they don't, they should go bye
