LAME DUCKS ARE QUACKING

Retired teachers and public employees in Illinois are being warned that the current “lame duck” session of the Illinois General Assembly is poised to undertake the “pension reform” issue.
I’ve never seen so many warnings and also explanations of why most meaningful legislation occurs during lame duck sessions. The “lame ducks” of course are the legislators who have lost elections and or are leaving at the end of the year for some other reason. These are the people who supposedly are ready to consider controversial legislation because they are soon to be accountable to no one.
