A Framework for Flexibility for School Turnaround



Over the last few weeks hearings in both the Senate and the House education committees focused on school turnaround. Two related themes were reoccurring throughout the hearings. The first was the desire for more flexibility beyond the four turnaround options available under the School Improvement Grant program and the President’s reauthorization proposal. The second related theme was that the four models do not work well for rural schools. There were valid points raised around both of these issues.
