Yee to chair committee on public records

Leland Yee, the Democratic state senator from San Francisco, will chair a new select committee to examine California’s public records and open-meetings laws. He said the committee will look for ways to improve public access to government documents and proceedings. California has good open-government laws, Yee said, but some agencies still deny public and media requests for records.
