Gus Morales is a teacher whose firing from Holyoke Public Schools prompted an investigation that prevented student̢۪s scores from being publicly displayed. He will be speaking on how to reshape our education system to the needs of our students.
Gus Morales is the current president of the Holyoke Teacher̢۪s Association and a teacher for Holyoke Public Schools. In 2014, Gus was laid off by the Holyoke Public School system for criticizing a directive to post students̢۪ names and test scores on the walls of their classrooms. After an investigation by the Massachusetts Department of Labor Relations which ruled in his favor, he was subsequently rehired. At TEDxAmherst 2015, Gus will talk about how we can reshape education to better serve the needs of our children
