Despite the lack of advance notice to parents, educators and community stakeholders; without any prominent placement or visibility on Chicago Public Schools’ website home page; and in spite of the “messaging” that CPS has used – ” ‘Come on out for an ‘Information Session’, ya’ll!” – CPS officials are now saying that these meetings ARE the “public hearings” on the school district’s blue print for the next decade that State Law requires.
IF THESE ARE THE ‘PUBLIC HEARINGS” . . . Will any CPS Board members be in attendance? Will your “testimony” be recorded and reported to the Board of Ed members? Do your ELECTED OFFICIALS know that CPS regards these events as THE place to make formal testimony about what CPS is planning for your community’s schools?
