Hearing on Sacramento school closures gets underway in federal court - Education - The Sacramento Bee:

Hearing on Sacramento school closures gets underway in federal court

A witness in the federal lawsuit seeking to block the Sacramento City Unified School District from closing seven elementary schools testified today that the district overstated capacity of some campuses when it decided which ones to close.
U.S. District Judge Kimberly J. Mueller had granted the hearing on the plaintiffs' bid for a preliminary injunction on behalf of parents and others living near the closed schools. A decision to grant the plaintiffs' request would block closures until the case is resolved or both sides reach an agreement.
