leader and writer now retired from the Oakland Education Association OEA talks about the role of the AFT and NEA and the failure of the national education unions and the local unions to fight the destruction of public education through charters and privatization.
He discusses in this context the failure of the
Alameda Labor Council to support a direct action to defend a public school and the lack of education about the forces behind privatization.
