A NEW MERIT PAY PROPOSAL

I have a group of workers that should be considered right along with teachers for merit pay. These workers are like teachers in so many ways. They care deeply about the people they cater to.  They only have a limited time to work with the people they are responsible for. (Yikes two sentences in a row that end in prepositions). They aren’t in their profession for the money. The people they are helping come with many different types of problems and come from a variety of backgrounds. They are well-respected, but not nearly as much as in the past. They rely on local people for their salary. They do not work for a business. They put in many hours of work that the average person is unaware of. They tend to be more efficient at their jobs as their tenure grows.
