What a revolting development this is

It's pretty clear why Jamie Oliver - British chef promoting healthful foods in school lunches (the force behind TV's Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution) - has been banned from filming in a Los Angeles school.

The food advertising world, like L.A. school officials, seem to believe that kids automatically reject eating what's good for them. We see the anti-Jamie-theory effect in TV commercials suggesting that we should not let our children know that some grocery items actually contain either fiber or vitamins.

One televised cereal ad shows a parent covering the "fiber" portion of the box label as if it were a toxic warning. On the positive side, however, the child does taste a flake of the cereal and actually likes it, despite being shielded protectively from its nutritional health benefit.

Are we raising stupid kids or are we acknowledging stupid parents?
