School Tech Connect: Where Will Arne Go?

Where Will Arne Go?

This will be my last NEA endorsement post for a while, I promise. And who really knows how things will work out-- it may have been a canny move on Dennis Van Roekel's part to speed up the unearned endorsement. If more time elapsed, it might become clearer to the membership that the GOP positions on public education are the same as the President's, and then they would find themselves in the awkward position of having to endorse Obama on strictly non-education issues. Who knows?

For fun, let's imagine for a moment that the NEA didn't disarm, and that they found themselves with some influence over policy. What if they found themselves in a position to influence the early departure of Arne Duncan, for example? I'm fascinated by the guy, personally, as is obvious in my posts over the last year. Where would Arne go? What would he do?

The man is an anomaly, as I've pointed out before. He's never had to beat out other candidates for a job in his life. Which organization would pick him up? I figure his main choices are below:
