new “Education Achievement System” announced today by Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder will place more power in the hands of principals and teachers at each of Detroit Public Schools’ failing schools.
Snyder and DPS Emergency Manager Roy Roberts are announcing the plan right now at a press conference that started at 11 a.m.
Also announced is a new program that would give Detroit children enough money to go to two years of college and then later, after enough money is raised, to attend for four years.
