Universities Withholding Public Information? You Flunk

Californians Aware, a nonprofit that advocates for government transparency, is requesting public information from universities and community colleges across the state and grading the schools on their results — literally.

Locally, the San Diego Community College District got an A, San Diego State University got an A+, and the University of California San Diego got a D. (The nonprofit noted that if it hadn't been for delays in getting the information, UCSD would have gotten a much better grade.) Interestingly, that pattern seems to mirror the statewide trend, according to a Californians Aware press release:
