I often make the case that Team Obama's only education reform action that holds any promise of closing the achievement gap is the the signing of the health care bill. Until education policy, in fact, is seen as inextricably linked with health care, eye care, dental care, housing, transportation, jobs, nutrition, safe neighborhoods, integrated living, AND schools, we will continue to have fools like Bill Gates using the excuse of No Excuses to ignore poverty while grinding down children into data points and replacing their teachers with 2 year missionaries out to spread the gospel of white technocratic culture while leaving children defenseless against a predatory capitalism. Praise Billy Gates!
