Kelley Williams-Bolar, Ohio Mother Convicted Of Lying To School District, Tells Her Side Of The Story

After being convicted of falsifying records so that her children could attend a better school, Kelley Williams-Bolar served nine days in jail and is currently on parole.

Williams-Bolar's case has catapulted a national debate about educational equality in America, with some painting the mother as a hero, and others seeing her as a thief.

The case has sparked such a passionate response from the public that Governor John Kasich has asked the state Parole Board to review the case.

Williams-Bolar spoke to NPR to tell her side of the story.

The Ohio mother explains that she believes her children stayed with her father frequently enough to make them eligible to attend the school in his district.
