Top Education officials Friday denied censoring a school play that slammed outgoing schools Chancellor Joel Klein.

Students at Jamaica High School and Queens Collegiate were shocked when administrators dropped the curtain on their city-centric update of the Greek tragedy "Antigone."

But a spokeswoman for Klein, whose last day in office was yesterday, insisted leaders of the two schools, not officials at Tweed, made the controversial call.

"The principal made the decision on his own," said spokeswoman Natalie Ravitz. "When Chancellor Klein learned of it last week, we contacted the school and told them that the kids should be allowed to perform the play."
