Santa Paula school merger proposal moves ahead � Ventura County Star

Santa Paula school merger proposal moves ahead




A proposed merger of Santa Paula school districts moved a step closer to a local vote Wednesday night, after a Ventura County committee signed off on the plan.
The Ventura County Committee on School District Organization hired a consultant to study the merger and held several public hearings over the past six months before voting on the issue Wednesday. The plan now goes to the state Board of Education, which, too, must rule on the merger.
If approved in Sacramento, voters in the Santa Paula Union High School District would get to decide whether to actually merge the districts.
