Sacramento City schools chief seeks accountability officer

Now, Raymond is moving forward on two initiatives to bring more accountability to the city school district.
Raymond is asking the school board to approve a new position – chief accountability officer – who will oversee a new section of the district's website aimed at providing school-by-school information.
The website is in the initial planning stages after the district signed a $52,000 contract in January with Mariner, a North Carolina data and performance management company. Mariner developed Data Dashboard, a website that shows how individual campuses are faring in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools system.
Raymond was the chief accountability officer at CMS when Data Dashboard was created. It became his signature accomplishment during his three years at CMS.
The creation of a chief accountability officer position may not sit well with Sacramento City Unified's teachers union, which approved a list of concessions on Friday.
