Presidential scholars: Oregon scores three

Three Oregon high school seniors have been named Presidential Scholars in honor of their outstanding academic achievement, leadership and contribution to school and community, U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan announced today.
Every state automatically gets two scholars: one boy and one girl. But 15 additional "at large" top achievers are named from all states, and Oregon had one of those, too, this year.
Oregon's winners are:
- Eva Koeller, senior at Lincoln High in Portland.
- Evan Wu, a senior at Crescent Valley High in Corvallis.
- Torrin Rudeen, a senior at South Eugene High.
