Nike, through the Oregon Community Foundation, will grant up to $500,000 a year for three years -- up to $1.5 million -- to local nonprofits and schools for creating positive social and environmental change through physical activity.Announced Monday, the Nike Employee Grant Fund awards will be offered twice a year across the greater Portland area: Multnomah, Clackamas, Washington, Yamhill and Columbia counties in Oregon and Clark County in southwest Washington.
Nike employees will serve on an advisory committee to develop grant recommendations for the foundation and will volunteer their time and professional experience to help nonprofits achieve their objectives.
"We want to benefit communities where Nike employees live, work and volunteer through this new employee backyard grant and volunteer program," said Hannah Jones, vice president of Nike Sustainable Business
