UC Davis student found safe in Haiti - Latest News - sacbee.com:

"Starry Dawn Sprenkle, the missing doctoral student from UC Davis, has survived the earthquake in Haiti, along with her young daughter and husband.

Sprenkle called her mother in the Salinas area to say that she was in Port-au-Prince and was with her husband, Erlantz Hyppolie, and their daughter, Jasime."

Until today she had not been heard from since 1:53 a.m. Tuesday when her father, Stephen Sprenkle, received a text from her saying that she was heading to Port-au-Prince, presumably with her 20-month-old daughter.
Sprenkle, 28, was going there to be with her husband after the death of his mother. That raised concerns that she had been hurt or killed in the huge quake that shook Haiti.
The text came at the exact minute the earthquake struck. This morning, the university received a call from Sprenkle's father saying that she was fine.
