"WILLOWS, CA - The high school junior who was expelled for leaving two shotguns in his pickup truck at the edge of campus has asked the Glenn County, California Board of Education to reinstate him.

Gary Tudesko, 17, was kicked out of Willows High School in November after a school security dog alerted to the shotguns and ammunition in his locked truck on a public street adjacent to school grounds. Tudesko had gone duck-hunting with a friend before classes and told administrators he didn't have time to take the guns home before the first bell.

Tudesko was represented by two attorneys hired by a consortium of gun rights advocates at a Tuesday hearing before the Glenn County Board of Education. The National Rifle Association hired a camera crew from Washington, D.C. to record the event A crowd of supporters wearing ribbons packed the hearing room, some of them wearing hunting gear."
