Should California tax college tuition? - College Life OC : The Orange County Register:

"There’s an uproar going on in Pittsburgh, where the city council is considering whether to assess a one percent tax on the tuition paid by students who attend college in that city. The idea was proposed by Mayor Luke Ravenstahl, who says the $16 million or so the tax would raise could help underwrite the pensions of city employees who’ve retired. Local college students, and their parents hate the idea."
