PRESIDENT BIDEN APOLOGIZES FOR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT'S ROLE IN BRUTAL INDIAN BOARDING SCHOOLS

 FREE LEONARD PELTIER

It's long overdue': Biden apologizes for federal government's role in brutal Indian boarding schools

Well, well, well, look who finally decided to apologize. President Biden, in a long overdue move, has finally acknowledged the federal government's role in the horrifying Indian boarding schools that forcibly removed indigenous children from their families. It's about time, Mr. President. But hey, better late than never, right?

Let's talk about this policy of forcible removal from families. I mean, who in their right mind thought it was a good idea to tear children away from their families and force them into these so-called schools? It's beyond comprehension. The trauma and pain inflicted on these innocent children is simply unfathomable. We're talking about a systematic attempt to erase indigenous culture and identity here. It's a dark chapter in our history that can't be ignored or swept under the rug.

And the abuse suffered by these children? It's nothing short of a horror story. Reports of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse run rampant throughout the history of these boarding schools. The very institutions that were supposed to educate and nurture these children turned into houses of horrors, perpetuating unspeakable acts of violence and cruelty. It's a disgrace, plain and simple.

Now, let's shine a light on the plight of Leonard Peltier. This man, a prominent Native American activist, was subjected to the horrors of these schools. And if that wasn't enough, he has been unjustly imprisoned for far too long. Peltier has spent over four decades behind bars for a crime he maintains he did not commit. It's a travesty of justice that he continues to languish in prison while the real perpetrators roam free.

It's time for clemency and release for Leonard Peltier. The man has suffered enough. He has become a symbol of resilience and strength in the face of injustice. It's time for the government to right this wrong and grant him the freedom he deserves. Let's not forget that Peltier's case is emblematic of the broader issues faced by indigenous communities in this country.

The apology from President Biden is a step in the right direction, but it's just the beginning. We need to confront the painful truths of our past and work towards healing and reconciliation. We owe it to the indigenous communities who have endured so much suffering and loss. It's time to acknowledge the atrocities committed against them and take meaningful action to address the ongoing impact of historical trauma.

So, Mr. President, it's time to turn your words into action. Let's see some real change, starting with the release of Leonard Peltier. It's long overdue, but it's never too late to do the right thing.
