Student Voice:

MONDAY: Students as Partners in Education Policy Making

PrichardComm
Join us Monday (1.6.13) at 8:30 EST for our first #StuVoice Twitter chat of the New Year. We’ll be discussing how to integrate student voices into existing reform platforms, particularly with regards to collaborating with passionate adults.
We’re excited to share that this chat will include a simultaneous, livestreamed Google Hangout On Air with the Prichard Committee Student Voice Team!

How it will work:

The Google Hangout On Air:
Will be a space for the Prichard committee to share what they’re doing, discuss the role and impact of student voices, and answer any questions that you may have, via Twitter. Delving into a concrete, exemplary model of student voice at work, this Hangout will explain how the PCSVT has grown and where they are headed with their work in KY. Simply tweet @Stu_Voice to get your questions answered live.
The big idea is to explore the concrete, practical implications of fostering student voice “on the ground,” so to speak.

The Twitter Chat:
Will be a conversation about broader implications of student-adult partnerships, token student representation, and how to ensure all student voices are heard. These guiding principles will serve as a model, encouraging you to organize and start your own Student Voice based initiative. Join the conversation via #StuVoice, and pay attention to tweets from @Stu_Voice to see what is being discussed in the Google Hangout! Feel free to share your own thoughts and questions! Simply tweet @Stu_Voice to get your questions answered live.
The big idea is to discuss the story of how one initiative grew, and how we can learn from their work.
