American reading habits survey: Was it misinterpreted?

The Pew Research Center released a new study on American reading habits reading. A number of news outlets reported that it says most young Americans (ages 16-29) are reading a lot and using public libraries. But cognitive scientist Daniel Willinghamsays that these reports have been misleading. He explains why in this post, which appeared on his Science and Education blog. Willingham is a professor and director of graduate studies in psychology at the University of Virginia and author of “Why Don’t Students Like School?” His newly published book is “When Can You Trust The Experts? How to tell good science from bad in education.”
